While waiting for the receipt and change in a particular restaurant…
Loving friend: Here, be the one to answer their survey.
Nikki: Okay (getting a pencil and reading the instructions).
Nikki: Scale of 1-10…
Food? ……..8
Service? ……..7
Courteous servers? ……..7
Cleanliness? ………..6
Amount of servings? ……..7
Satisfaction? ……….7
Overall? ……………………….(interrupted)
Loving friend: Why are you grading them like that? (grabbing the sheet) We did not have a bad lunch here. Change your answers and make them only 9 or 10.
Nikki: Why should I?? (grinning)
Loving friend: Don’t be so bad.
Nikki: I am not. I am just judging the UP-way! (still grinning) (hindi kaya mababa ang 6, 7, 8)
Loving friend: But you’re not in UP right now. (Loving friend frowns and changes the answers)
The end!!
**So, are your criteria and judgments affected by the institution where you belong to?
But we bring our UP mind everywhere! I hate your loving friend!!
Dont hate him!! grrr! hahaha! At least I irritated him–that was what I aimed that time hehe!
who is this loving friend who happens to be a guy?
yes. the institution where you come from really affects the way you are in almost everything you do. I was actually appalled by the fact that some of my highschool acquaintances (friends of my friends who are in the same barkada) does not even know cinemalaya, tas sabi pa… “mag movie nlng tayo, ano ba kasi yang cinemalaya?” the hell??!
i think so. i belive it affects the decisions we make. a agree with alps. we dont leave our minds somewhere. it’s always with us.
